Christmas Decorations Last Longer Than Wilfried Nancy at Celtic

The Christmas decorations erected at Celtic Park on 1 December have officially outlasted Wilfried Nancy’s tenure as manager, remaining in place longer than the man appointed to lead the club just two days later.

The decorations — including a large Christmas tree, perimeter lighting and several festive displays around the stadium — were installed as part of Celtic’s annual seasonal setup and are scheduled to be taken down on 6 January, marking the Epiphany. Nancy arrived on 3 December. He did not make it that far.

At the time of his appointment, club statements spoke of vision, identity and long-term planning. By the time the decorations had fully settled into position, the conversation had moved on.

Supporters noted the overlap almost immediately. “You saw the tree first,” said one fan. “Then the manager. Then suddenly it was just the tree again.”

Inside the club, some staff admitted the pace of events made adjustment unnecessary. One source said they never learned how Nancy took his coffee.

The brevity of Nancy’s stay extended beyond the training ground. Sources say his Glasgow landlord had only just received the first month’s rent when the situation changed.

One supporter outside the ground summed up the short-lived tenure as being, “the worst performance by a Nancy since the finale of Stranger Things.”
